AWS is preparing to host its Washington, D.C. Summit from June 30 to July 1, 2026, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, positioning the free event around cloud innovation, public sector technology and artificial intelligence.
The company says the two-day gathering is aimed at public sector professionals, technical leaders and others interested in AWS tools and services. Attendees will be able to choose from sessions tailored to different mission needs, including customer-led presentations focused on how organizations are using cloud and AI technologies to address operational challenges.
A central theme of the summit is generative and agentic AI, along with broader cloud modernization efforts. AWS says participants will hear from public sector leaders who have used AWS to support mission transformation, and will learn about topics ranging from cloud migration to supercomputing. The agenda also emphasizes networking, with opportunities for attendees to connect with peers, AWS experts and industry practitioners.
The event is set to include more than 350 sessions, according to AWS. Those will cover customer success stories, hands-on demonstrations and live interaction with AWS specialists. The company is also highlighting its AWS Training and Certification offerings, saying sessions will explain how these programs can help attendees gain practical cloud experience and validate technical skills.
Other featured areas include the AWS Village and an AWS for Industries Zone. AWS describes the village as a place to explore its newest products and services with guidance from experts, while the industries zone is designed to showcase sector-specific solutions and advice for organizations facing unique challenges.
The keynote will be delivered by Dave Levy, vice president for Worldwide Public Sector, Healthcare and Life Sciences. In that session, AWS says Levy will discuss the company’s approach to secure cloud infrastructure for AI and government workloads. He is also expected to address how customers are building agentic AI solutions to speed modernization efforts, support developers and strengthen security. AWS says the keynote will also touch on the company’s role in national security, defense and broader digital transformation across the public sector.
The schedule begins with pre-day badge pickup on June 29 from noon to 6 p.m. On June 30, badge pickup and the expo will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., breakout sessions are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the keynote is set for 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. That day also includes lunch and a networking reception in the late afternoon.
On July 1, badge pickup opens at 8 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m., while the expo runs until 3 p.m. Breakout sessions are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with lunch from noon to 2 p.m. The summit is scheduled to close at 5 p.m.
Registration is open through AWS’s event site. The summit is part of the company’s broader effort to bring together cloud users, public sector officials and technical teams for practical training, product demonstrations and discussion of emerging technologies.
